Bogor City is surrounded by the Bogor Regency (kabupaten) but in itself is a separate municipality (cat).[14][62] The city is divided into six districts (kecamatan), which contain 68 low-level administrative units, 31 of which have the status of settlement and 37 are villages.[63]
